Ok, so as some of you know, Tory recently died her hair, and I have been working on my flexibility. The following are just a couple of pictures of Tory's hair and my newfound flexibitity. Also, could you please comment and pray for my race tommorow, as I am nervous. Please enjoy the pics.

Just FYI, I am going to try to take a bunch of pics of different outfits and post them later. Hope you enjoyed this post.

Ok, so firstly, this is the response to Noelle's challenge thingy about the ten random questions and a couple of new ones of my own. Secondly, I am going to a swim meet on Saturday (the 28th of April) so I would really like your prayers that I do well and don't put my hip out when I do the breast stroke. Now, please enjoy the videos and comment for Johnny Depp!

This is the video because naughty blogspot wouldn't let me upload it :(

I am tagging: Flo, Noelle, Nini, and Misty to do this new random question thingy.

After you watch the video above, please watch this to see my answers to the new random questions. Now, I want to say, thank you all for watching and please comment for Johnny Depp in the backround! Bye!

The Hunger Games.

These books are sooo awsome!!! I love them! They are well written, sweet, kinda gory though, but very interesting. Why am I talking about the Hunger Games you may ask? WHy, because we are going to watch the first one on my birthday!! It is a trillogy about sixteen-year-old Kattniss Everdeen, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where the countries of North America once existed. The Capitol, a highly advanced metropolis, holds absolute power over the rest of the nation. The Hunger Games are an annual event in which one boy and one girl aged 12 to 18 from each of the 12 districts surrounding the Capitol are selected by lottery to compete in a telivised battle in which only one person can survive. It is a romance/action story.

Ok, so, here is a little update about my arm. I don't have to have surgery! Yay! And I get to take off my brace/cast thingy on St. Patty's day. (Mar. 17) And, since I have nothing better to do, I decided to make a post about baking. Now, as many of you know, I love baking! For me, there is almost nothing better then seeing one of my projects work out perfectly and beautifully! (well, that may be a slight exaggeration, but still.) The one I am posting about is a cake I made for Mexican Independence Day (Viva Mexico!) It isn't the best cake I ever made, but still, it was tasty and yummy. I tried to make two different Red Velvet recipies, one for the red cake, and another for the green. I personally prefer the Green Velvet one, but sadly, I forgot to take pictures of that cake, so I'll just tell you the one for Red Velvet. But, if you really want, you can go to http://www.lovefromtheoven.com/2011/03/03/green-velvet-cake-st-pattys-day-baking/ to get the full recipe. Here there is a step-by-step intructions for the red velvet cake recipe.

The Recipe:
2 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup buttermilk (if you don't have buttermilk, before you start cooking, combine 1 cup whole milk wl 1 tbsp vinegar)
2 tbsp liquid food coloring of your choice
1 tsp vinegar

First, preheat your oven to 350F or 175 C. Make the buttermilk, then combine with the food coloring

Mix together the flour, salt, cocoa, and baking soda and set aside.
In a separate bowl, whip the butter until smooth.

Now, combine the sugar and the butter. Make sure that it is mixed together all the way.

Add the eggs, mixing until combined.

Alternate adding the flour mixture and the milk mixture. Divide into two pans (I used loaf pans) (Don't forget to grease!) and bake until a toothpic inserted into the center comes out clean.
My green Velvet cakes sunk, I'm not quite sure why.

My red velvet came out nice.

Now for the best part: The FROSTING! I doubled the recipe, as i was making two different cakes. This is the normal recipe
Cream cheese frosting:
one 8oz (1 cup) pkg of cream cheese
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
2 cups confectioner's (also known as icing or powdered) Sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Cream together cream cheese and butter ( both at room temp.) You may want to use an electric mixer.

Now, sift in the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing inbetween cups.
Now, add the vanilla, mix and vuala! Some delicious frosting for you!
my cake caved in, not sure why, so I leved off the other cake, and filled this one with the pieces.
Add some frosting in the middle, put the other cake upsidedown on top of it, frost the top and sides, and.....

... you have a patriotic cake!

Well, as some of you know, I have been taking swimming class for the past couple of months, and I am going to be competing on the 10th. It is my first competition, and I am very nervous. Please pray that I do well, and that I don't have my bathing suit fall off when I dive in the pool. There are tons of rules, and I don't speak Spanish that well, so it is fairly difficult to understand.
Now I'm just gonna give you a quick update. We have decorated the house, and I'll try to post pictures soon. We have been restaurant singing, which is quite hard, as there is only three of us. We are gonna go to the states for Christmas. We are leaving on the 12th, and we are going to visit our family (that counts Anisha) for the hollidays. I also really want to visit you, Noelle. I haven't seen you in forever! I really miss you. You have to visit us sometime soon, Savvey? Shelly out!

The following is a story I wrote for my language arts. The assignment was to write a biblical fiction based on the Good Samaritain, (Luke 10:25-35) in someones point of view. I chose one of the thieves.
I pulled myself up, peering of the the edge of the rock, trying to see the road. There was no one there yet. We had been waiting for over three hours in the sweltering sun. Caiaphas, my partner and brother, was snoring next to me. His face was now bright red, and I was sure that mine didn't look any better. I heard nothing but the wind and the occasional hiss of a snake. I felt like drifting off, everything was so quiet, but I shook myself awake. It wouldn't do to fall asleep and miss a traveler. I wasn't able to get a job, so I made a living stealing. It wasn't the life I would have chosen, but I didn't have any other way to support my wife, three children, and widowed mother. My brother, on the other hand, actually enjoyed stealing. He wasn't the brightest man, but he was strong, fast,(though he didn't look it) and a good fighter.
Hearing a creak, I sat bolt upright, almost hitting a rock. I dared to glance at the road again, and saw a man. He was riding on a cart, laden with packages. A donkey was pulling the cart. I slapped my hand over Caiaphas' mouth, then pinched him. His eyes flew open, hand going for his knife. He relaxed when he saw me. I gestured towards the road, and Caiaphas understood. I took my hand off his mouth, and we crept down the small path, heading towards the road.
We made it to the road in about a minute, then sauntered up to the man, who was eating his lunch. Caiaphas had his hand on his knife, ready to draw it at a moments notice. I calmly told the man that if he gave us his money, he wouldn't get hurt. He refused, so Caiaphas beat him into unconsciousness. Caiaphas boarded the cart, while I bent over the man. Taking his money pouch, I pressed a coin into his hand. It was a custom for me. I then climbed onto the cart, and Caiaphas gave a yell, making the donkey move. We then started towards our home, in a small town near Bethany.
