Well, as some of you know, I have been taking swimming class for the past couple of months, and I am going to be competing on the 10th. It is my first competition, and I am very nervous. Please pray that I do well, and that I don't have my bathing suit fall off when I dive in the pool. There are tons of rules, and I don't speak Spanish that well, so it is fairly difficult to understand.
Now I'm just gonna give you a quick update. We have decorated the house, and I'll try to post pictures soon. We have been restaurant singing, which is quite hard, as there is only three of us. We are gonna go to the states for Christmas. We are leaving on the 12th, and we are going to visit our family (that counts Anisha) for the hollidays. I also really want to visit you, Noelle. I haven't seen you in forever! I really miss you. You have to visit us sometime soon, Savvey? Shelly out!

The following is a story I wrote for my language arts. The assignment was to write a biblical fiction based on the Good Samaritain, (Luke 10:25-35) in someones point of view. I chose one of the thieves.
I pulled myself up, peering of the the edge of the rock, trying to see the road. There was no one there yet. We had been waiting for over three hours in the sweltering sun. Caiaphas, my partner and brother, was snoring next to me. His face was now bright red, and I was sure that mine didn't look any better. I heard nothing but the wind and the occasional hiss of a snake. I felt like drifting off, everything was so quiet, but I shook myself awake. It wouldn't do to fall asleep and miss a traveler. I wasn't able to get a job, so I made a living stealing. It wasn't the life I would have chosen, but I didn't have any other way to support my wife, three children, and widowed mother. My brother, on the other hand, actually enjoyed stealing. He wasn't the brightest man, but he was strong, fast,(though he didn't look it) and a good fighter.
Hearing a creak, I sat bolt upright, almost hitting a rock. I dared to glance at the road again, and saw a man. He was riding on a cart, laden with packages. A donkey was pulling the cart. I slapped my hand over Caiaphas' mouth, then pinched him. His eyes flew open, hand going for his knife. He relaxed when he saw me. I gestured towards the road, and Caiaphas understood. I took my hand off his mouth, and we crept down the small path, heading towards the road.
We made it to the road in about a minute, then sauntered up to the man, who was eating his lunch. Caiaphas had his hand on his knife, ready to draw it at a moments notice. I calmly told the man that if he gave us his money, he wouldn't get hurt. He refused, so Caiaphas beat him into unconsciousness. Caiaphas boarded the cart, while I bent over the man. Taking his money pouch, I pressed a coin into his hand. It was a custom for me. I then climbed onto the cart, and Caiaphas gave a yell, making the donkey move. We then started towards our home, in a small town near Bethany.

I hate solid geometry. Seriously. Who invented that torture??? Who? I think they wanted to fry helpless children/teens brains. I spent an hour and a half on three problems, because I couldn't figure it out. Mom didn't know how to find the area of a rectangular solid, and Tory was watching her math videos. Bella's excuse in Twilight

The best excuse Edward thought of for why Bella was all scraped up is Bella fell down a set of stairs, and through a window. First, how many hotel staircases have windows right at the bottom? Barely any. And maybe I've been mistaken my whole life but it's damn hard to crash through a window. Was Bella just hauling like 200 miles an hour down that staircase to be enough of a force to go barrelling through that window? Was this window just like really cheap or something? Because that might be a bit of a hazard if a storm blows through. What happens if a 30 mph wind goes on outside? The windows would implode, shattering all over hotel guests in which they'd certainly sue. I did not understand how anybody fell for this explanation. And another questions... how did they explain the bite mark on bella's hand, exactly? Because that's actually a pretty recognizable shape.

Dear peoples; I need to rant
A seasonal rant, and one that has noting to do with turkeys and witches and the color orange, but rather a Christmas rant.
Or more correctly, a Christmas singing team rant.
Did you know that Christmas will be here soon? Not all that soon, but soon enough for this years singing team to start practicing.
This years singing team is different. Normally, When we get together to start our Christmas singing team, we have people who have been singing together for quite some time. Who know all the songs that are generally used here. Even if they haven't been on our singing team before, theyv'e had a pretty good idea of how things are done.
But now, we've got a couple of freshmen. David is a very good singer, but all his previous busking experience has been, well...not here. He doesn't know any of the Spanish Christmas carols, and is quite ignorant of "The way we've always done things". So he's kind of mumbling around, And he's our lead guitarist!
The next thing is (insert curse word of your choice here) Silent Night. The darn thing is impossible to sing. if it's in a key David can sing, I can't hit it. If it's a key I can sing in, David can't.
Which brings me to the last thing I want to rant about. I've never sung lead before. I've always sung second. Important, carrying a good deal of wight, but always knowing that if I fail, that if I hit a wrong note or forget the words, Someone else with a stronger voice than me is singing too, and will cover for me. It's as is I was playing the second fiddle in an orchestra, always wanting to play first violin, And then one day someone shoved the fist violin in to my hands and said "Here, play" And I suddenly realize that I have no clue how to play this thing.
I'm done ranting. May your days be merry and bright and may all your Christmas carols be sung in a key everybody can hit.

Hi. This is Shelly after 2 weeks of not posting. Wow, Ive been lazy, and busy. anyhoo, we just finished watching The Last Airbender in 3D. It is pretty good, but the acting could have been better. It also has some pretty awsome graphics. After we finished, we ate at McDonalds and all had Big'n'tasty's with soda and fries. than we watched 2 episodes of Glee, and went on the roof to watch the fireworks, as it is mexican independence day. wow, I haven't posted in, like, forever. But I two reasons. First, I have been busy, and second, nothing really has happened. I"ll tell you about my day so far.
Got up at 9, cleaned up the room, and put in a load of laundry. Then I checked the schedule, and found out I was on lunch and lunch dishes, so I went to ask mom what to make for lunch She told me I could either make whitesauce, noodles, and meat, or mac and cheese. So I decided to make mac and cheese. We didnt have any cheese, so we went to superama to get some. While we were there, I saw some super cheap lemon sherbert, so I got some. When we got home, I decided to eat a cupful of sherbert while I did my school. I finshed my math and language b4 I had to go to start making lunch. It turned out super good,PTL, and everyone ate tons. So, well stuffed, tory and I did the dishes. After we finished, we made chocolate milk,( more like I made chocolate milk, for we all know that tory cannot cook to save her life) and watched a little house on the prarie. Then we had wordtime, and now we are having free time.
I know that this isnt very interesting, but, I need to post SOMETHING. Also, I'd really appreciate if you commented. It really inspires me to find somthing to post about. It also makes me feel special. :)

This Proves Blondes Really Are Smart

A blonde and a lawyer are seated next to each other on a flight from LA to NY. The lawyer asks if she would like to play a fun game? The blonde, tired, just wants to take a nap. Politely she declines and rolls over to the window to catch a few winks. The lawyer persists and explains that the game is easy and a lot of fun.
He explains, "I ask you a question, and if you don't know the answer, you pay me $5.00, and vise versa."
Again, she declines and tries to get some sleep. The lawyer, now agitated, says, "Okay, if you don't know the answer you pay me $5.00, and if I don't know the answer, I will pay you $500.00." This catches the blonde's attention and, figuring there will be no end to this torment unless she plays, agrees to the game.
The lawyer asks the first question. "What's the distance from the earth to the moon?" The blonde doesn't say a word, reaches into her purse, pulls out a $5.00 bill and hands it to the lawyer.
"Okay," says the lawyer," your turn." She asks the lawyer, "What goes up a hill with three legs and comes down with four legs?" The lawyer, puzzled, takes out his laptop computer and searches all his references. No answer. He taps into the air phone with his modem and searches the Internet and the Library of Congress. No answer. Frustrated, he sends e-mails to all his friends and coworkers, to no avail. After an hour, he wakes the blonde and hands her $500.00.
The blonde says, "Thank you," puts her head on the pillow and goes back to sleep.
The lawyer, who is more than a little miffed, wakes the blonde and asks, "Well, what's the answer?" Without a word, the blonde reaches into her purse, hands the lawyer $5.00, and goes back to sleep.

Blonde Logic January - Took new scarf back to store because it was too tight.

May - Tried to make Kool-Aid.....8 cups of water won't fit into those little packets!!!

June - Tried to go water skiing.....couldn't find a lake with a slope.

July - Lost breast stroke swimming competition.....learned later, other swimmers cheated, they used their arms!!!

August - Got locked out of car in rain storm.....car swamped, because top was down.

September - The capital of California is "C".....isn't it???

October - Hate M & M's.....they are so hard to peel.

November - Baked turkey for 4 1/2 days.....instructions said 1 hour per pound and I weigh 108!!!

December - Couldn't call 911....."duh".....there's no "eleven" button on the phone!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! It is crazy that it is already 2010!! For our New Years' Eve activity, we visited the Haven Home (a family home near by.)We had a blast! We made a huge bonfire and roasted marshmallows and hot dogs. We also set off fire crackers. I don't have any pics but I will try to get some.

Hello! I know I have been posting, like not at all, so I will attempt to give a fairly satisfactory post this time.
Bub has been talking up a storm. His latest funny was when Celeste came to visit. He stood up cordially when she walked in and began jumping on the bed while presenting her with the following effusion: "Hello! This is my mommy and this is my daddy and I'm the monkey who eats all the bananas."
Thus his education progresses.

Also, I am taking a poll. Should I dye my hair red or not? (not bright red, more like mom's) My present hair color is somewhere between brown and blond.
And i have one embarrassing story that happened this evening. I call it "the glamorous life of an Imaginary Rockstar"
I have a favorite pastime. I go where no one is around, turn up0 the volume on my mp4 and, using it as a microphone, I lip-sync to my favorite songs,while pretending that I am singing them in front of a screaming crowd of people, with band lights an such. Corny, I know, but a lot of fun.
So i went up to our flat roof and began rocking away to "Hair" by Ashly Tisdale. I paused the wrong way around in the middle of a spin. Abi, Andre, Sam, Nadia , and Martin were all staring at me like I was going bonkers.

Hi!, first of all, I know Iv'e been pretty spastic with this blog. I'm sorry!
Second, I hae a story to tell. I was rollerblading at the park, when I decided to try and take the big hill. this thing is pretty steep and thre was a crowd on the bottom of it, nevertheless, I decided to try it.
A bout halfway down the hill, I realised that I couldent stop, or even slow down, so I began shouting cuidado (watch out) at the top of my lungs. unfortunately one little girl didn't hear meand I bowled ito her and went flying. the kid wasnt hurt, thank god, only scared, but i hurt myself. When i first went to the red cross, the doctor said that i broke my arm, and put a half cast on it. now we went back to see a specialist aand he said that i just sprained it, but i still need to wear this stupid cast untill tuesday.
in other news, we taught bub to say my precioussssssssss like gollum any now he wont stop saying it!

I am sorry that I havent been posting but it has been very busy. Well, a few days ago, alex, paz and their kids came over. I don't have any pics about then cause our camera was not working, but we had a blast. Here is the story:

First they arrived at around 10 pm andd we gave them a tour and all that jaz. then Niki, Shannon,and Jazmine came to our room and we talked and hung out. we were going to watch a movie, but it was too late.then we talked and talked till around 1 am. shannon and I wanted to go to sleep earlier, but they wanted the light on and we wanted it off, so that didn't really work. the next morning we had creps for breakfast courtosy of niki and then we went swimming. we swam for a long time till we got bored of that and played volleyball. then we ate steak, beans and potatoes for lunch. we had such a blast!then we started to watch First Knight but alex and paz left before we finished.

baby brothers;

"bubbles" is getting to be very cute. he says the funniest things! H has a chair that he calls his chair. He never sitts on it, but he freaks out whenever someone sits on it, 'No! That's my chair! get off sister!" he will never call shelly and I anything but "sister". he absolutely refuses to call us by our real names. bub has also become an expert on "camels noseing" his way out of bedtime; "Sister, I so hungry, i need bannanna. i need to go potty. want water" such a naughty boy!

Yesterday there was an activity for all the family kids in this area ages 12-17. I am just within that age group, as are most of my friends. this activity was in Mexico City and we live about four hours away in Cournavaca. I am the only person in that age group in my home, so i went with the haven home, who had six people going already. Since they didn't circulate that day, we went the night before and spent the night at Aaron an Dulce's home. the next morning the CTC home had come too, and one other home. the other home was the only one with a car that could circulate on that day, so we all went in that one. There was just one problem: have you ever tried fitting twenty-four people into a twelve-seater? I felt like a sardine!!! We played three games of paint ball. my team lost the first one, in spite of Niki and I taking out the opposing team leader. the second game i think we could have won. we had the position that the other team had had last game, and it was much easier to defend. But they stopped that game in the middle to do another activity. I didn't play the third game.
Then we went to the woods and had a barbecue. it was a long activity. we had lots of fun going for a hike. in the middle of the hike, for no apparent reason, Richard announced that we were going "zombie hunting" don't ask me where he came up with this. we didn't catch any, but i thought that it was funny because every stick or stone we passed, he used his imagination to make it into some sort of evidence that zombies had been there. when we finally got back to my home it was past midnight, but I had a lot of fun.

Ixtapa part 3

We went to Playa Las Gatas. We took a taxi to Zhieuatanejo, then we took a boat across the bay. On the other side there were tiny waves. When you went out to where the waves were splashing, you would find that the bottom slopes for about a foot, then the water is clear and calm with a sandy bottom and you can swim in it as if it was a swimming pool. It was also warm. If you went out a little further you could snorkle and see fish and coral. You could actually go out to the coral reef, but we didn't want to because the water was so shallow there and we wanted to be able to look down on the fishes, not say hello and shake their fin.

I learned how to carve sand castles. Anisha and I made the prettiest fairy castle for the sand fairies to live in. I carved the bottom part while Nini made a drip castle up top. Then we dug a tunnel through it as a hallway and off of the tunnel we dug little rooms into which we put sand furnishings. We hope the fairies like our castle.

We went to that beach twice. I think it was my most favorite part of the whole trip!

Ixtapa part 2

The next day we got up at 7:30 while Mommy slept (she had an earache) and went with Gogee to the beach. We found a new way to get from the beach to our street without going through a hotel lobby. In the afternoon we went to see the manager of a hotel called "Dorado Pacifico". We sang for him. He said we could have three breakfast buffets in his hotel and we could use the pool. He was happy that we came to see him. That evening we provisioned a delicious dinner. The girl who we provisioned it from also gave us ice-cream. That evening Mommy also prayed with a very sweet man to recieve the Holy Spirit and he had a neat experience where he felt a cold wind rush all around him even when it was a very hot night and they were sweating.

Ixtapa.part one (typed by Tory)

On the way to Ixtapa,we took two busses, the first one was very nice. The second one was so-so. We travelled for 8 hours.
When we first got there we went to the beach ,and Mommy started talking with a nice man.
The man's name was Guiermo, and suddenly he said,"I want to give you a free horsey ride",
so we went. And that was the first day.

(From Shelly) We went with Gogee and Mommy. The hotel we stayed in was very nice. It had quite a deep pool though. It didn't have aircon and it was super duper duper hot!

This is a story I wrote for my school work:

"The Three Brother's Garden"

Once upon a time there was three brothers. The oldest one was John. The next one was Noah and the youngest's name was Joe. It all began a warm day in March... John and his brothers were having a chat when John said, "Why don't we grow a garden? We'll grow tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, lettuce and radishes." The other two agreed. Joe knew they would have to work very, very hard to grow a garden. Noah called, "I'll get the shovel!" and he was gone. Joe called, "I'll get the hoe and the spade!" and he was gone too. Last of all John got some fertilizer. Then when they had all the things they needed they sang "Jesus oh Jesus" while they worked. Then that day was over.
When they came back, they saw some tiny shoots. The plants had grown! They danced and sang. Then they weeded and that day was over. All summer long they worked on their garden. Then on the first day of fall, they harvested their crops. Joe dug up the carrots, Noah made the dirt soft so Joe could dig up the carrots easily. John harvested the other crops and their dad sold them in the market.

Dear everyone who signed on our blog. This is Shelly speaking from the Heavenly World of Mexico. Just being foolish. It actually is Shelly, and that's not a joke.

Here is a dumb blonde joke: There was once this blonde who wanted to get her hair cut. So she went to a barber shop and asked them to cut her hair. (She was listening to something with her headphones.) And the barber said, "You'll have to take off those headphones before we can cut your hair." And then she says, "Oh no, this is my life." So they start cutting her hair and she fell asleep. So the barber is like, "Okay, now's my chance." So he slowly takes off her headphones and she wakes up and she dies. He's like, "Hmmm. What are those headphones saying?" So he puts the headphones on and guess what he hears? "Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out."

Do you know that Tory just chopped off her hair? I should send you a picture but it's almost my bedtime and Mommy's going off to a meeting. So all I can say right now is Bye for Now!

A few days before today, I remembered Phill who used to live in our home and was visiting us,
and how a long time ago he had said that the day I could tell him that couldn't eat jalapenos
was when I could eat one one myself, but he never thought I would do it!So can you guess
what I did , thats right,I took a jalapeno and a cup of milk and went to find him. I ate it and it
was so hot my mouth was still spicy 'till school time!
